The beginning of Niagara’s patented cycloid action dates back to the 1920s in the coal fields of Canada. The coal miners discovered that by leaning against a mining machine, they could get immediate relief for aching backs and joints. The Wettlaufer Brothers were inventors, and when they heard about this they began researching this revolutionary new ‘process’.
The commercial potential of this life-changing form of therapy was never fully recognized until Owen Murphy stumbled onto it in 1948.
